MADISON, WI – In honor of World Mental Health Day, Unbar is proud to announce the launch of the "Unmasked Campaign", an initiative designed to encourage authenticity and promote mental wellness. The event will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Library Mall of the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
The Unmasked Campaign invites students, professionals, and the broader community to unmask their true selves by writing their personal truths on the back of a printed mask. The event will feature participants sharing their authentic thoughts and feelings—emphasizing that behind every mask is a story worth telling. The campaign is designed to help individuals shed the societal pressures that often lead them to hide their true identities and emotions.
What to Expect:
Participants at the Unmasked Campaign will receive a printed mask with the words "UNmask with UNbar" on the front. They will be encouraged to write a personal message, truth, or reflection on the back of the mask—something they feel they often keep hidden from the world. Each participant will have two photographs taken:
- A black-and-white photo with the front of the mask.
- A color photo with the back of the mask, revealing their written message.
The photos will be shared with participants and posted on Unbar’s social media platforms to promote the message of authenticity, self-acceptance, and mental wellness. Participants will also be encouraged to share their photos on social media using the hashtag #UnmaskWithUnbar to spread awareness of the campaign and its mission.
The Mission:
The Unmasked Campaign aims to foster a sense of community by giving people the opportunity to step forward as their authentic selves, unburdened by societal expectations or emotional masks. Unbar, a brand focused on mental wellness and self-care, recognizes that true self-care begins with mental and emotional well-being. The campaign aligns with Unbar’s mission to help individuals unmask their true selves, embrace their authenticity, and connect with a community of like-minded people.
"This campaign isn’t just about revealing personal thoughts; it’s about reclaiming power by being real," said Ayden Fowler, Co-founder of Unbar. "Mental health isn’t something that should be hidden, and the 'Unmasked Campaign' offers individuals a safe space to express who they really are, with the support of a growing community behind them."
Join the Movement:
